Koti Bird House Sand

Bird architecture that complements human architecture. 

The word ‘koti’ means home in Finnish. KOTI is a triangular ceramic birdhouse that mounts to the wall. Tried and tested - the birds have accepted this modern architecture and filled them with triangular nests three years in a row. 

Each birdhouse is handmade by a small Portuguese factory, which started in 1979 and is known for its technical ceramics and high level of craftsmanship.

Wall-mounted on a wood cleat, the birdhouse lifts off and has an opening on the back side to allow easy cleaning before each nesting season. The glaze on the inside has been given a rough texture under the exit hole to assist chicks when they climb out. The 32mm hole diameter attracts a wide range of songbirds from various chickadees and tits to pied flycatchers and nuthatches.
